washers are tasty

im buying a lotto ticket later, after the new head gasket is on





so last night i was cruising down the I-5 jus north of the u-dist.

hit a bump and my motor started ticking super bad. immediately pulled off, thought the fan had come loose.

turns out a bolt came off that held my air cleaner to the carb, the bolt happened to be inside the air filter.

found the bolt, but not the washer.



was supposed to meet ian @ my place, so i called him to tell him i was gonna be late. and i asked if he had a AAA card.

sure did





i pulled all the plugs, could see the #2 intake valve and it looked like it had some scoring/contact/ shiny bits from impact.



fished around for a while with a magnetic probe and couldnt find anything. so i cranked the motor over to bring up the piston. still nothing then the motor bound up, so i stopped.


and immediately pulled the head.

turns out i was wrong, it was in #3. and it looks like nothing but superficial scoring on the head and piston top.

MUCH better then before, it has so much power now im kinda worried.


not sure if its cuz im getting better at adjusting valves, or if playing with the carb a lil bit made it better. but its running better then this motor ever has before.

gonna go grab some food then head up to boost's house for a shake down prior to tomorrow.


ill be making some calls if somethin happens.

lol u guys pull heads like other ppl change tires. i still cant get the head off that damn ford . but i only spent about 20 min and a bottle of vodca .. then gave up.

Bottle of Vodka is installation tool. Not good for part removal.
